BlackBerry Make Curve 9380 and Bold 9790 Official

RIM has today announced the Bold 9790 and Curve 9380, the Canadian firm’s latest devices to run the BlackBerry OS 7 operating system.

Both devices feature NFC support and maintain external design elements consistent with the Bold and Curve handsets that preceded them.

The Curve 9380 however is the first handset in the series to feature a ‘full-touch design’ with a 3.2-inch touchscreen.

Other specs include a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, and enhanced social networking integration comprising of BBM, Facebook and Twitter support.

The Bold 9790 features a 2.4-inch touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard, 8GB of integrated storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot) and is powered by a 1GHz processor.

As well as NFC capabilities, augmented reality support (courtesy of the Wikitude AR app) is integrated into BBM, allowing users to discover which of their contacts are in the immediate vicinity.

Release dates were unforthcoming from the manufacturer although Dialaphone has managed to source a device and will be reviewing it over the next couple of days, so keep checking back. In the meantime though, take a look at the images below.
